Biography

Pauline Wakeham is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Writing Studies at Western University. She holds a PhD and an MA from the University of Alberta, as well as a BA (Hons.) from the University of Guelph. Her research focuses on Indigenous Canadian literary and cultural studies, exploring themes such as reconciliation, settler colonial studies, and critiques of ethnographic photography and film. Currently, she is writing a book about Indigenous reparations movements in Canada over the past several decades. She is actively involved in supervising graduate students in their research endeavors and is a cross-listed faculty member of the Indigenous Studies Program. Moreover, Pauline is a member of Western's Centre for Transitional Justice and Post-Conflict Reconstruction, contributing significantly to the academic discourse on contemporary justice issues.
