Biography

Pavan V. Kolluru is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, a Master’s degree in Materials Science Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University. His research focuses on the mechanical behavior of polymers, particularly investigating deformation failure mechanisms, spatial confinement in polymers (such as thin films and nanofibers), and deformation micromechanisms. He specializes in experimental micro/nano mechanics, including techniques such as AFM-based indentation and nanoindentation MEMS. Additionally, his work addresses polymer matrix composites, composite interphase mechanics, and the viscoelastic properties of materials. He has received several awards for his research, including the Nanoscience User Research Grant from Argonne National Laboratory and the Kenneth Lee Herrick Memorial Award for outstanding research performance.
