Dr. Payal Mukherjee

Biography

Payal Mukherjee is an Associate Professor and an Adult Paediatric ENT Surgeon who specializes in hearing and balance disorders at Macquarie University. She is a translational researcher focused on applying technological innovations to achieve meaningful impacts for patients. Her research encompasses both basic science and clinical studies, including areas such as biofabrication, 3D printing in Otology, Cochlear Implants, and Menière's Disease. Additionally, she leads a diverse multidisciplinary research team, heavily collaborating with the Australian Hearing Hub on various projects involving Basic Science and Health Services Research. She is passionate about medical devices and serves as chair of the RACS ASERNIP-s committee and a committee member of the TGA Advisory Committee. Her experience as an expert panelist for the Medical Devices Fund within NSW Health further solidifies her influence and contribution to the field.
