Professor Payman Kassaei obtained his PhD from MIT, supervised by Professor Steven Kleiman. After completing his PhD, he held positions at Michigan State University, Brandeis University, and McGill University before moving to King's College London in September 2006. He was promoted to Reader in Number Theory in 2012 and to Professor in 2018. Kassaei's general research interests lie in Arithmetic Geometry, where he investigates the geometry of arithmetic varieties. His work focuses on the study of automorphic forms, particularly from a p-adic perspective. He is interested in the role of p-adic overconvergent automorphic forms in the ongoing formulation of the p-adic Langlands program. Through his research, he contributes to the understanding of various complex mathematical structures and their implications in number theory and geometry.
