Dr. Pedram Asef

Biography

Pedram Asef is a Lecturer in Advanced Electrical Machines in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University College London. He is the Director of the UCL e-Motion Laboratory and a member of the Advanced Propulsion Laboratory. He has expertise in Electrical Machines, Electric Propulsion Systems, Power Electronics, Electric Vehicles, Electric Drives, Applied Mathematics, and Energy Systems. Asef earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, graduating Cum Laude in 2019 with his thesis nominated for the Thesis Award. His professional background includes roles as a Senior Research Fellow and Senior Engineer in UK industry, leading funded research projects from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, European Space Agency, and Innovate UK. He is recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Chartered Engineer, and an IEEE Senior Member. Asef is also an Associate Editor for the IET Journal Engineering and plays a significant role in various national and international conferences, acting as Technical Track Chair and Committee Member.
