Biography

Pegah Banihashemi is currently a JSD candidate at the University of Chicago Law School, having completed her LL.M. in 2022. In the UK, she worked on human rights research, commentary, and advocacy, particularly concentrated on issues such as death sentences, immigration law, and women's and children's rights within the context of Middle Eastern Sharia Law. Banihashemi has also contributed significantly to the analysis of international law and international human rights as an expert legal analyst for various global media outlets and non-profits, and has taught legal courses on topics related to women's rights, law, and human rights advocacy for students and teachers.
