Peining Li's research activities focus on the structural and functional characterization of human chromosome abnormalities. Utilizing molecular methods such as fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), mapping, microsatellite allelotyping, and next-generation sequencing, Li has performed high-throughput chromosome-specific genome-wide analysis to map segmental deletions and duplications and sequence rearrangement breakpoints.
