Biography

Dr. Peizhong Peter Wang is a tenured professor of Epidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). He graduated from Tianjin Medical University in China, completed his Ph.D. in Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, and has extensive research experience in cancer epidemiology, arthritis disability, and immigrant health. Dr. Wang leads several significant research projects funded by provincial, national, and international agencies. His primary research focus includes epidemiology of colorectal cancer and the impacts of COVID-19 on immigrant communities. Dr. Wang has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to more than 30 research grants. His commitment to education is demonstrated by his role in supervising graduate students and teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses at MUN and Tianjin Medical University, including Introduction to Epidemiology and Advanced Epidemiology.
