Biography

Peizhong Peter Wang is a tenured professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto and a professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is the director of the Centre for New Immigrants Wellbeing. Dr. Wang received his M.D. and M.Sc. from Tianjin Medical University, and his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Toronto. His research interests include cancer epidemiology, epidemiological modeling, immigrant health, and nutritional epidemiology. He has led and co-investigated over 30 research grants with funding from various provincial, national, and international agencies. In addition to his research, he is committed to teaching and training future public health researchers and practitioners, teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and has received multiple awards for his research contributions, including the Arthritis Society CIHR Joint Fellowship Award.
