Professor Dr. Per Olov Östberg

Biography

Per-Olov Östberg is an Associate Professor at Umeå University, leading the Autonomous Distributed Systems Lab, also known as ADSLab. His research focuses on resource management in distributed cloud environments, where he explores methods and models for autonomous control and management. Östberg is particularly interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and machine learning, employing these techniques for system characterization and control. His work actively engages in the development of new AI methods aimed at creating intelligent systems that incorporate ethical reasoning and responsible AI principles. He is also part of the Green Distributed Computing Group and coordinates various research projects that aim to advance the field of cloud computing.
