Biography

Per Boström is an Associate Professor at Umeå University specializing in the fields of Cognitive Linguistics, metaphor, and discourse analysis. He completed his PhD thesis on the Swedish/Scandinavian languages, which investigated how metaphors for romantic love are conceptualized and conveyed in spoken Swedish. His teaching encompasses sociolinguistics, children’s language development, metaphor theories, academic writing, and forensic linguistics.
