Biography

Per Boström is an Associate Professor at Umeå University specializing in the fields of Cognitive Linguistics, metaphor, and discourse analysis. His research primarily explores metaphors in language, particularly in the context of romantic love. He completed his PhD thesis on the Swedish/Scandinavian languages, which investigated how metaphors for romantic love are conceptualized and conveyed in spoken Swedish. His teaching encompasses sociolinguistics, children’s language development, metaphor theories, academic writing, and forensic linguistics.
