Per Brunsell is a Professor in the Division of Electromagnetic Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, specializing in Fusion Plasma Physics. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from KTH in 1984, and later obtained his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics in 1991, with a thesis focused on experimental studies of plasma equilibrium stability. In 1995, he was awarded the Docent title in Fusion Plasma Physics. His post-doctoral research was conducted at the Electrotechnical Laboratory in Tsukuba, Japan, from 1992 to 1993. He has held various positions at KTH, progressing from Research Associate in 1994 to Associate Professor in 1998, and finally to Professor in 2014. Brunsell serves as the Deputy Head of his division and is actively involved in teaching undergraduate courses in fusion plasma physics and electrotechnical modeling. He leads the EXTRAP T2R plasma experiment facility and currently supervises several Ph.D. students. His research interests encompass experimental studies of magnetohydrodynamic instabilities, development methods, and active feedback control of instabilities.
