Perla Balbuena is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University and holds the Mike O’Connor Chair Professor position. Balbuena has received numerous awards for her contributions to the field, including being named a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society in 2022 and a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in 2020. In 2013, she was recognized as a Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and has received multiple teaching and research excellence awards from Texas A&M University.
