Dr. Perry Dhaliwal completed his early education in Calgary and obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Calgary in 2002. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alberta in 2006 and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Calgary from 2006 to 2012. During this period, he also completed a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. To further develop his skills in spinal surgery, he did a Complex Spine Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic under the guidance of Dr. Edward Benzel. In July 2016, Dr. Dhaliwal returned to Canada to join the section of neurosurgery at the University of Manitoba. He currently serves as the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in Neurosurgery and as the Director of the Spine Fellowship at the Winnipeg Spine Program. His research focuses on clinical studies evaluating spinal cord autoregulation and secondary injury in acute traumatic spinal cord injury, as well as spinal disorders and minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Dhaliwal enjoys outdoor activities and fitness in his free time.
