Dr. Perry Yang

Biography

Perry Pei-Ju Yang is a Professor and Director of the Eco Urban Lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of City and Regional Planning and School of Architecture. His research focuses on incorporating data analytics into urban design to improve ecological energy performance in cities. Yang has published over fifty articles and book chapters since 2009 and co-edited the book 'Urban Systems Design: Creating Sustainable Smart Cities in the Internet of Things Era' in 2020. His work has been recognized with numerous awards in international design competitions, including projects that have received accolades for their innovative approaches to sustainable urban development. Yang's urban design projects have been featured in prestigious publications and have included noteworthy contributions to smart city initiatives. He has been involved in collaborative projects with universities and organizations across Asia, including Tokyo and Singapore, while holding visiting professor positions at institutions like the University of Tokyo. His academic background includes being a Fulbright Scholar and previously serving as an Assistant Professor in Architecture and Urban Design at the National University of Singapore. In addition to his academic duties, Yang serves as an advisor to urban governance initiatives, aiming to enhance city resilience and ecological sustainability.
