Biography

Pete Lally is an Assistant Professor in Magnetic Resonance (MR) Physics at the Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London. He obtained his PhD from Imperial College London, where he developed MR spectroscopy techniques for the application of neonatal brain imaging in the initial days following perinatal hypoxic-ischaemic injury. His research focuses on advancing MRI techniques for rapid and high-resolution imaging, with a particular emphasis on degenerative diseases. He has worked with 3T (Hammersmith Hospital) and 7T (London Collaborative Ultra-High Field MRI System, LoCUS) systems. Throughout his academic career, he has held various positions at Imperial College London, including as a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellow from July 2024, and prior to that, as a BRC MR Physics Fellow and Senior MR Physicist.
