Dr. Peter Aggleton

Biography

Peter Aggleton is an Emeritus Scientia Professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specializing in social studies related to education, health, and international development. He has over 40 years of experience, including significant roles in various international organizations such as the United Nations. Educated at the University of Oxford, University of Aberdeen, and King's College London, Peter has been a leading figure in health policy, particularly in sexual health and rights. His research includes over 300 scientific papers and more than 60 authored or edited books, achieving notable citations in global public health. He has led major funded projects in Australia and internationally, totaling approximately $50 million in research grants. Additionally, he serves as editor for respected academic journals and has contributed to international discussions on sexuality, health, and education. Peter is an honorary professor at the Institute of Global Health at University College London and holds distinguished professorships at various Australian universities, including the Australian National University and La Trobe University.
