Biography

Peter Agocs is an Associate Professor in the Department of Greek and Latin at University College London. He educated in Canada and Hungary, writing his PhD dissertation at UCL, which he completed in 2011. Since then, he has returned to UCL as a Lecturer in Classics and holds a Junior Research Fellowship at Cambridge. His research interests specialize in ancient Greek literature and culture, particularly focusing on early Greek poetry, cultural history, classical archaeology, and iconography. Peter has published works in both English and Hungarian and teaches a broad range of BA and MA courses in Greek and Latin language, literature, myth, and cultural history. He supervises PhD students working in the area of Greek literature and culture. Additionally, he is involved in several international research projects, including the Graeco-Aegyptiaca network, and is interested in innovative collaboration ideas for research and education.
