Peter Andrekson received his Ph.D. from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, in 1988. He worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey, USA, from 1989 to 1992 before returning to Chalmers as a full professor in the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience. Andrekson is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and a Fellow of the IEEE, as well as a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). He has authored approximately five hundred scientific publications and conference papers in the field of optical communications and has delivered a hundred invited talks at leading international conferences and journals, contributing to tutorial sessions at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) and the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC). He has also served on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Photonics Society and has held various roles in technical program committees.
