Dr. Peter Blunt

Biography

Peter Blunt has over 25 years of experience in university research, teaching, and consulting, primarily focusing on governance, public sector management, and political economy in developing countries. He served as the Foundation Chair of Business Management at Charles Darwin University from 1990 to 2000 and held professorships at the University of Nordland in Norway and Cardiff University in the UK. He has worked with various international organizations including the World Bank, UNDP, and ADB, consulting on governance and development issues in more than 30 countries. Blunt's recent work critiques the motivations behind development assistance and the damaging ideologies associated with neoliberalism, particularly in relation to state sovereignty and sustainable development. He has published extensively on management and governance, including several books and numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, reflecting a critical analysis of public sector management strategies across different contexts. His editorial contributions span multiple journals focused on management and development studies, demonstrating his influential role in shaping discourse in these fields.
