Biography

Peter joined University College London (UCL) in January 2020 as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. His background spans mathematics, neuroscience, and computing, with a keen interest in the computational functions of the brain. Peter graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick and has worked in various roles in computer software before completing his PhD, titled "The Mathematics of Shark Brains," at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. In addition to his academic pursuits, Peter has spent time in Japan where he conducted research on the computational function of the cerebellum, and he has taught primary school children how to build air rockets. Outside of academia, he has recently taken up learning to play the guitar. At UCL, he leads modules such as Literature Review and Mathematics for Natural Sciences, and he is part of the teaching team for various modules in scientific computing.
