Biography

Peter Broekmann is an Associate Professor and head of the Interfacial Electrochemistry group at the University of Bern. He studied Chemistry at Bonn University from 1991 to 1997, followed by a PhD in surface science under Professor K. Wandelt. He completed his postdoctoral research at the MESA+ Research Institute and has held various leadership roles at the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry in Bonn. His research interests include atomic scale characterization of electrified solid/liquid interfaces using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and scanning force microscopy (AFM). Additionally, he focuses on additive-assisted electroplating techniques and the electrochemical reduction of CO2. He has authored numerous publications and is involved in projects related to mass transport phenomena in ionic liquids.
