Biography

Peter Brown is a postdoctoral fellow at the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He completed his doctoral degree in Professor Yaoqi Zhou's lab at Griffith University in 2019, where his research focused on structural alignments and similarity detection in bioinformatics. Prior to joining UNSW in 2021, he gained significant experience as a full-stack software engineer, working on critical remote patient monitoring applications in telehealth. He currently supervises approximately 30 undergraduate thesis students who are involved in biomedical software engineering projects at the Connected Health Network Laboratory (CHANL). Peter is also responsible for developing project scopes and schedules, providing guidance, and conducting training workshops related to health application development while navigating regulatory requirements and design constraints in mobile health applications.
