Dr. Peter Christensen

Biography

Peter Brylov Christensen is a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Biblical Exegesis within the Faculty of Theology. His research primarily focuses on the Old Testament, particularly its relationship with Ancient Near Eastern texts. He explores Comparative Semitic philology and the Ugaritic text corpus, aiming to deepen the understanding of Semitic languages. Current research initiatives include a project on the Semitic enclitic 'mem', a common morpheme found in dead Semitic languages, examining its semantic meanings and grammatical implications. He is also engaged in a grammatical tagging project for Ugaritic texts, enabling complex searches within these ancient documents. Educated at the University of Copenhagen, Peter holds a Master's degree in Theology (2015) and a Bachelor's degree in Theology (2012). His linguistic expertise spans several ancient and modern languages, including Akkadian, Ancient Greek, and Biblical Hebrew, alongside proficiency in Danish, English, German, and Swedish.
