Peter Collmer is a Privatdozent for General Modern and Eastern European History. He studied General History with a focus on Eastern Europe and German Studies. From 1996 to 2001, he served as an assistant to Professor Carsten Goehrke. Between 2002 and 2021, he worked as an adjunct lecturer and rector’s delegate at the University of Zurich (UZH). Since 2021, he has been the head of the Department of Student Information and Advising at UZH. His research fields include Russia in the 19th and 20th centuries, Poland from the 18th to the 21st century, Swiss-East European relations, migration history, cultural history of the state, bureaucracy research, self-testimonies, and the sound and auditory history of Eastern Europe.
