Biography

Peter de Jong is a Professor of Experimental Psychopathology at the University of Groningen. His research primarily focuses on cognitive biases, implicit cognition, and mental disorders, including but not limited to sexual problems, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He has published extensively in the fields of disgust and its impact on psychopathology and has contributed to significant studies examining the effectiveness of attentional bias modification in treating substance use disorder symptoms. He is a board member of the Dutch-Flemish postgraduate school for Experimental Psychopathology and participates in research within the NWO-funded gravitation program on New Science Mental Disorders. He is also an editorial board member for several respected journals in the field of psychology and psychopathology.
