Dr. Peter Dellgran

Biography

Peter Dellgran is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Gothenburg, specifically within the Department of Social Work. He has coordinated the research program 'Social Work in Transition' focusing on organization, professionalism, and knowledge. Additionally, he has served as a visiting professor at Malmö University and has been the scientific director of the Centre for Professional Studies. His research interests encompass various domains within social work, including social policy, poverty issues, and the effects of privatization on professional practices. Dellgran currently leads a major research project funded by the Swedish Research Council that examines social relationships and informal financial assistance among families affected by long-term illness. His extensive publication record includes key works on social networks, professionalization within social work, and the impact of governmental strategies on knowledge production in welfare contexts.
