Peter Der Manuelian is the Barbara Bell Professor of Egyptology and the Director of the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. He is also interested in the intersection of archaeology and modern graphic design, aiming to incorporate new technologies into research and teaching. Recent projects have included the use of photogrammetry and immersive technologies for archaeological studies, as well as directing the Arabic Diaries Project, which seeks to shed light on the experiences of Egyptian workers during the Harvard–Museum of Fine Arts Expedition.
