Dr. Peter Drysdale

Biography

Peter Drysdale is an Emeritus Professor in Economics and the Head of the East Asian Bureau of Economic Research at the Crawford School of Public Policy in the College of Asia and the Pacific at The Australian National University. He is widely acknowledged as the intellectual architect of APEC and has authored numerous books and papers focusing on East Asian and Pacific economic cooperation, international trade, and economic policy. His notable works include 'International Economic Pluralism: Economic Policy in East Asia and the Pacific,' for which he has received several prestigious awards such as the Asia Pacific Prize, the Cosmopolitan Prize, the Weary Dunlop Award, and the Order of the Rising Sun. He is a registered research student supervisor and has been actively supervising research in his field. His academic journey culminated in a PhD in Economics from The Australian National University, analyzing Japanese–Australian trade and the bilateral trade flows.
