Biography

Peter Nicholas Flocos has been teaching courses at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School since 2011, including a seminar on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) litigation and the main M&A course. He also serves as a lecturer at the Wharton School, where he teaches about the legal transactional aspects of entrepreneurship. Mr. Flocos received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1990 and holds a Master's degree from Oxford University, focusing on modern history and political philosophy. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. Mr. Flocos has a strong legal background, having served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review at Penn Law and graduating Order of the Coif, which recognizes the top 10% of his class. Following his studies, he clerked for the Honorable Roger J. Miner on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before transitioning to academia, he was a litigation partner at K&L Gates LLP in New York City, where his practice involved complex business and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on M&A and corporate governance. He also worked briefly as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. In 2020, he took on the role of Managing Director at the Policy Regulation Center for Financial Stability, a nonprofit focused on financial markets and investor protection. Currently, Mr. Flocos is involved in post-baccalaureate academic work at Penn and Columbia University, while continuing his legal practice.
