Dr. Peter Frankopan

Biography

Professor Peter Frankopan is a renowned scholar in global history and a senior research fellow at Worcester College, University of Oxford. He focuses on Byzantine studies and the historical interactions of various cultures throughout history. Frankopan obtained his education from leading institutions, including Jesus College, Cambridge and Corpus Christi College, Oxford, where he specialized in Byzantine Studies. He has held positions such as Junior Research Fellow and has been involved with prestigious roles including the Stanley J. Seeger Visiting Fellow at Princeton and the Scaliger Visiting Professor at Leiden University. His extensive research interests encompass the Byzantine Empire, medieval Greek literature, and the Silk Roads, shedding light on the connections between past and contemporary societies.
