Peter's research interests include impact investing, African development, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on low-cost education in Africa. His DPhil research at Oxford explores the role of impact investing in financing non-state, low-cost early years and primary schools in Africa. As the CEO of Summit Development Group, Peter collaborates with impact investors and financial institutions in sub-Saharan Africa. He serves as a Senior Advisor to the Cambridge Education-managed DEEPEN program in Lagos, which aims to increase access to education for children attending low-cost schools. Additionally, he co-leads the Affordable Education Finance Capital Exchange based in Chicago, USA. With 25 years of commercial experience in the UK, Peter has worked with various organizations such as Enterprise Banking Group and BancABC in Botswana, as well as CDC and Africa Trading in South Africa. An experienced international speaker, he is a board member of the Bean Coffee Company in South Africa and Send Cow, a UK charity focused on promoting rural livelihoods in Africa. He is also involved with the Hugh Pilkington Charitable Trust and the Windle Trust, which runs schools and provides scholarships for African tertiary students. Peter teaches at the Oxford Impact Investing Programme as part of the MBA.
