Biography

Peter Hwang is a Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University. He completed his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and earned his MD at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he also completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Hwang has been instrumental in the field of rhinology, having previously served as the Director of Rhinology at Oregon Health & Science University, and returned to Stanford in 2005 to lead the Division of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. He has held several leadership roles, including Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs in his department and President of the American Rhinologic Society. Dr. Hwang is also an Associate Editor for the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology and the World Journal of Otolaryngology. His research interests focus on clinical outcomes related to endoscopic skull base surgery, the development of innovative medical devices for sinus disease, and novel therapies for chronic rhinosinusitis.
