Biography

Peter Kim is a professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Sydney, where he specializes in mathematical biology. His research focuses on applying mathematical models to understand complex biological systems, particularly in mathematical immunology, cancer dynamics, and virus dynamics. Professor Kim employs a range of mathematical techniques, including ordinary, delay, and partial differential equations, as well as individual-based models, to model and analyze biological phenomena. He is a member of the Applied Mathematics Research Group and aligns his research with the Faculty of Science's strengths in understanding disease, fundamental laws of nature, and complex systems. His work addresses various critical problems in the field, such as the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of targeted radionuclide therapy for cancer treatment and the evolutionary dynamics of human longevity through social dynamics. In addition to his research, Peter Kim supervises various graduate and post-doctoral students at the University of Sydney and collaborates with other institutions and laboratories in the US and South Korea.
