Dr. Peter Landey is an Associate Professor at Brock University with a DPhil from York University (UK) and a PhD from Goldsmiths College, London. He has an MMus from SUNY Potsdam and a BA and BMus from Carleton University. Dr. Landey is a specialist in 19th century music theory and has worked on critical translations of significant music treatises, including Reicha’s Treatise on Melody and Fétis’ Treatise on Harmony, which were published by Pendragon Press. He is currently preparing a critical translation of Fétis’ Treatise on Counterpoint and Fugue. In addition to his research, he teaches courses in music composition, theory, analysis, aesthetics, and studies in arts and culture. He is also an Associate Composer with the Canadian Music Centre and has received commissions from prominent Canadian ensembles such as ArrayMusic, the Toronto Dance Theatre, the Ottawa Dance Theatre, and the Niagara Symphony. His ballet 'Alice Looking-Glass' is produced annually in Tokyo.
