Dr. Peter Lee

Biography

Peter Lee is a Professor of Materials Science and the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies at University College London. With over 30 years of experience in the field, he has worked extensively in both industry and academia, including tenure at Alcan International and Imperial College London. His research focuses on microstructural characterization and modeling within the disciplines of materials science and engineering. He has produced approximately 350 publications and has led numerous large-scale projects funded by UK Research Councils and the European Union. His work has garnered significant recognition, including over 20 major awards such as the Grunfeld Medal Prize and the Royal Society Paul Instrument Fund Award. Lee co-directed the facility awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education, specifically for the development of new X-ray imaging techniques critical for industry applications. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and holds Chartered Engineer and Scientist status.
