Biography

Peter X. Liu is a Professor in the School of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta and has made significant contributions to the fields of interactive networked systems, teleoperation, and telerobotics. His research encompasses a wide range of applications, including telemedicine, haptics, medical simulations, robotics, intelligent systems, context-aware smart networks, and wireless sensor networks. Throughout his career, Dr. Liu has received numerous accolades, including the Carleton University Research Achievement Award in 2007 and 2016, and he was appointed as a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada in 2015. He also held the position of Canada Research Chair in Interactive Network Computing and Teleoperation from 2013. Dr. Liu's work aims to innovate and enhance the capabilities and applications of networked systems and robotics within various industries.
