Peter Der Manuelian is the Barbara Bell Professor of Egyptology and Director of the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East at Harvard University. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Having joined Harvard in 2010, he has an extensive background in Egyptology and archaeology, including a decade of teaching experience at Tufts University and curatorial roles at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Recently, he has been involved in the Arabic Diaries Project, which seeks to illuminate the stories of historically voiceless Egyptians through diaries from Harvard's expedition to Egypt.
