Biography

Peter Monge is a Professor Emeritus of Communication at USC Annenberg and Professor Emeritus of Management Organization at USC’s Marshall School of Business. His scholarship focuses on organizational communication, social networks, and quantitative research methods. He emphasizes understanding social global phenomena through enlightened ecological evolutionary theories. Monge co-founded the Annenberg Networks Network in 2005, a research center dedicated to communication network theory research, where he served as co-director in 2021 and directed for ten years. He has published five books, with the most recent being 'Theories of Communication Networks' (co-authored with Noshir Contractor), and over 100 theoretical research articles and book chapters on topics including organizational communication networks, evolutionary ecological theory, collaborative information systems, and globalization. From 1986 to 1993, he served as the editor of 'Communication Research'. Throughout his career, he has gained recognition as a Fellow of the International Communication Association, receiving the ICA Fellows Book Award in 2021, and it highlights his contributions to the field of communication.
