Biography

Peter Monteleone is an Associate Professor and Associate Program Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Dell Medical School. He is an interventional cardiologist and vascular medicine physician, currently directing the Clinical Research Group at Ascension Seton Heart Institute and serving as the medical director of the SHI Vascular Imaging Laboratory. Monteleone completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia, where he also served as chief resident. He holds a master’s degree in clinical research from the University of Virginia and has completed fellowships in cardiology at Cleveland Clinic and in interventional cardiology and vascular medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Before joining Dell Medical School, he was on the faculty at the University of Virginia and Massachusetts General Hospital. His research interests include diagnostics, outcomes, and novel device development in peripheral vascular and cardiovascular medicine, with a keen focus on utilizing machine learning techniques to enhance clinical diagnostics and therapies. Monteleone is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has been recognized with various awards throughout his career for excellence in teaching and research contributions.
