Biography

Peter Moult is a lecturer in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on synaptic plasticity, neuromodulation, and the neural mechanisms that control locomotion. He investigates how neurons form complex networks, highlighting their dynamic nature and plasticity in response to physiological changes. His work spans topics such as spinal cord injury, neuromuscular ageing, learning, memory, and neurodegenerative disorders. Peter employs a variety of techniques including neuronal cell culture, electrophysiology, and immunocytochemistry to explore the modulation of spinal cord neurons and their impact on locomotor output. Additionally, he is involved in projects assessing neuromuscular junction plasticity, the interface between the nervous and skeletomuscular systems. Alongside his research, Peter has a strong passion for teaching biological sciences, particularly in the field of neuroscience, and is committed to enhancing student engagement through technology-enabled learning methods.
