Biography

Peter Mueller joined the University of Texas at Austin faculty in 2011, holding joint appointments in the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Statistics and Data Sciences, and as an adjunct professor at the Department of Information, Risk, Operations Management of the Red McCombs School of Business. He has also served as an adjunct professor in Biostatistics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to his current position, he was affiliated with the Institute of Statistics and Decision Science at Duke University and worked in the Department of Biostatistics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He has been elected as a fellow of several notable organizations including the International Society Bayesian Analysis, the American Statistical Association, and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Mueller has a prolific publication record with over 210 scientific publications and has authored 10 books and edited volumes. His research interests include nonparametric Bayesian inference, Bayesian adaptive clinical trial design, Bayesian bioinformatics, and optimal design decision problems. He has contributed extensively to the development of Bayesian statistical methods and has addressed various biomedical research challenges.
