Biography

Peter Nilsson is a Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, focusing on Cellular Clinical Proteomics. He has extensive experience in developing multiplex protein antibody profiling techniques, particularly for infectious diseases and neuroproteomics. His research group has played a key role in creating high-throughput multiplex bead-based serological assays, notably for SARS-CoV-2, which enabled the analysis of 260,000 samples during the early phase of the pandemic. Currently, his work emphasizes international collaborations and aims to combat mosquito-borne illnesses such as dengue, zika, and malaria. He also contributes significantly to research on neurodegenerative diseases through multiplex protein analysis to identify biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid. Nilsson previously served as Vice Head of the Division of Biomedical Proteomics Platform and is currently the Scientific Director of the SciLifeLab national infrastructure for Proteomics.
