Dr. Peter Nugus

Biography

Peter Nugus is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Institute of Health Sciences Education at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is the Acting Director of the McGill University Practice-based Research Network (PBRN), focusing on workplace organizational learning, care coordination, and the culture and identity within complex organizations. His educational background includes a PhD, MA Hons, and MEd, complemented by a Fulbright post-doctoral scholarship at the University of California, Los Angeles, and an Australian government Endeavour post-doctoral scholarship at Columbia University. Nugus’s research expertise lies in ethnographic and participatory approaches to health care, with an emphasis on organizational studies. He has published extensively, with over 250 peer-reviewed articles and presentations in prominent journals like the British Medical Journal and Social Science & Medicine. His work has been supported by grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
