Biography

Professor Peter Richmond is a Consultant Paediatric Immunologist and Paediatrician at Perth Children’s Hospital, where he also heads the Immunology Department within the Child and Adolescent Health Service of Western Australia. He leads the Vaccine Trials Group at the Wesfarmers Centre of Vaccines and Infectious Diseases at the Telethon Kids Institute and is the Head of the Discipline of Paediatrics at the UWA Medical School. His primary research interests include the prevention of meningitis, pneumonia, respiratory infections, and otitis media. Furthermore, he has collaborated on numerous projects aimed at developing therapies and vaccines to combat these infections, contributing substantially to the field of paediatric immunization and public health initiatives. His work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing the importance of global health work and its impact on society.
