Peter Sadler obtained a BA, MA, and DPhil from the University of Oxford. He subsequently held positions as a Medical Research Council Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and the National Institute of Medical Research. He served as a Lecturer, Reader, and Professor at Birkbeck College, University of London from 1973 to 1996. His research focuses on the design of therapeutic metal complexes and organometallic anticancer drugs, contributing significantly to the field of bioinorganic chemistry and the development of new metallodrugs with novel mechanisms of action. He leads studies on industrial and international collaborative projects in co-ordination chemistry and interactions with biological targets such as RNA, DNA, and proteins.
