Biography

Professor Peter Sankoff is an award-winning educator and researcher specializing in legal issues surrounding the criminal trial process and animal law. He has authored and co-authored leading texts in evidence and criminal law, including 'Law Witnesses Evidence Canada' and 'Manning, Mewett and Sankoff on Criminal Law'. He graduated with a JD from the University of Toronto and later obtained an LLM from Osgoode Hall at York University. His career includes working as a law clerk for Madame Justice Claire L’Heureux-Dubé at the Supreme Court of Canada and serving as an advisor on human rights matters in the federal Department of Justice. Throughout his career, Sankoff has taught as a visiting professor at various institutions and has published in distinguished law journals. Currently, he operates his law firm, Sankoff Criminal Law, and is the founder of an educational company for criminal defence lawyers.
