Dr. Peter Schulz

Biography

Peter J. Schulz is the Director of the Institute of Communication and Health at the University of Lugano, Switzerland. He is a Professor whose research primarily addresses Communication Theories and Health Communication. His recent work delves into key issues in health communication, focusing on themes such as health literacy, empowerment, and doctor-patient communication. He also investigates the media's effect on health and the impact of internet use on adolescents' health. Throughout his career, Schulz has published over 170 articles in health communication across a multitude of peer-reviewed publications. He has worked collaboratively with Paul Cobley, London, as an editor for the 'Handbooks of Communication Science' series, which encompasses 35 volumes published by Berlin: DeGruyter & Mouton. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was honored as an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University in Canberra in 2017.
