Dr. Peter Sheldon

Biography

Peter Sheldon is an Honorary Professor at the University of New South Wales, specializing in international comparative industrial relations. He possesses a Bachelor’s degree in economics with honors in industrial relations, a PhD focusing on Australian industrial relations history, and a postdoctoral fellowship in sociology. His research interests center on employer associations in Australia and East Asia, particularly in relation to collective bargaining and policy development. He has published extensively on the internal dynamics of voluntary organizations and the effects of global trends on Australian industrial relations. Sheldon has a keen focus on human resource management, especially how firms in China adapt to local skill shortages. In addition to his research, he is passionate about teaching negotiation skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those in executive education programs. He has also been involved in various significant research grants related to industrial relations and structural adjustments within coal power regions in Australia.
