Biography

Peter Spafford is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Otolaryngology – Head Neck Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. He obtained his MD from the University of Saskatchewan between 1982 and 1987, graduating at the top of his class with a gold medal. He completed his postgraduate training including a rotating internship in Akron, Ohio, followed by a General Surgery residency in Honolulu, Hawaii, and an Otolaryngology residency in Vancouver, BC. He has been involved in several leadership roles within the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology – Head Neck Surgery, serving as President and Secretary during his tenure. His contributions to the field include significant teaching commitments, for which he was awarded the top surgical teaching award for undergraduate clinical clerks in 2016. He is actively engaged in various committees, including the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee and has been a member of the Advisory Board for the Humboldt Broncos Memorial Fund. Dr. Spafford has dedicated his career to advancing the field of otolaryngology through education, clinical practice, and leadership in surgical oncology.
